CAS name

Cyclopropanecarboxylic acid, 3-(2,2-dichloroethenyl)-2,2-dimethyl-, (2,3,5,6-tetrafluorophenyl)methyl ester,(1R,3S)-

BENEFITS

  • Broad spectrum of activity against household insects
  • Very fast knock-down effect, particularly on mosquitoes and moths
  • Efficiently controls insect population in treated area
  • Good spatial repellant properties
  • Flushing-out effect

PROPERTIES

TRANSFLUTHRIN is a photostable synthetic pyrethroid with knock-down and killing effects extraordinarily efficacious at very low concentrations against mosquitoes and moths besides other insects such as roaches, bed bugs, ants, silverfish, wasps, fleas.

TRANSFLUTHRIN is also reported to be effective against highly resistant strains of Anopheles funestus (malaria vectors). Thanks to its excellent heat-stability and high evaporation rate that allows the evaporation at room temperature, TRANSFLUTHRIN is particularly suitable to be
used in heated (mats, liquid emanator devices, coils) and unheated systems (for example anti-moth paper).

TRANSFLUTHRIN is around 7 times more effective than d-Allethrin in LVs coils.

Appearance

Transparent viscous liquid.

Solubility

Soluble in all common
organic solvents.
Negligible solubility in water

Specifications

Purity (1R-trans isomer):  98.5% w/w min.

APPLICATIONS

TRANSFLUTHRIN is an excellent knock-down and killing pyrethroid suitable for applications against flying insects, in particular mosquitoes and moths.

The most recommended uses of TRANSFLUTHRIN are aerosols, liquid emanator devices, coils, candles, mats and unheated systems such as impregnated paper and gels against mosquitoes and moths.

Thanks to its high volatility the efficacy onset is usually quicker compared to that achievable with other actives.

COMPATIBILITY, STABILITY,
STORAGE AND HANDLING

TRANSFLUTHRIN is compatible with most of the actives, solvents and co-formulants normally used in the manufacturing of insecticidal products, including Piperonyl Butoxide which also has excellent solubilizing
properties.
TRANSFLUTHRIN is sensitive to alkalis and strong acids, which rapidly hydrolyse the substance.

When kept in the original sealed drums and properly stored, TRANSFLUTHRIN has a shelf life of at least 3 years from the manufacturing date.
For prescribed handling, storage conditions, disposal and transport information, refer to the relevant Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

PACKAGING

TRANSFLUTHRIN is supplied in internally epoxy-phenolic lacquered. UN approved steel drums. original packaging

Standard packaging sizes (net weight): 5 kg; 30 kg

Packaging labelling complies with international provisions for transportation of dangerous goods. TRANSFLUTHRIN is labelled also in compliance with applicable European Union legislation.
