BENEFITS

  • Broad spectrum of activity against household and public hygiene insects
  • Quick knock-down effect, particularly on flies
  • Efficiently controls insect population in treated area
  • Flushing-out effect
  • Easy photo-degradability (low residuality)
  • Excellently synergized by Piperonyl Butoxide
  • Granular form for easy and safer handling

PROPERTIES

TETRAMETHRIN is a photolabile synthetic pyrethroid exhibiting mainly a knock-down effect, especially on flies, and is recommended in a variety of household and public health applications.

As for other synthetic pyrethroids, the efficacy of TETRAMETHRIN is strongly enhanced when combined with Piperonyl Butoxide which, thanks to its unique mode of action, synergizes very well this class of insecticides.

Endura TETRAMETHRIN was initially marketed in the powder form and encountered all the common problems related to the handling of powders.
Endura has solved this problem by producing TETRAMETHRIN in granular form, guaranteeing an easier and safer han- dling, without modifying other properties such as purity, solubility, impurity profile, biological efficiency, toxicology and storage stability.

Appearance

White to ivory granules.

Solubility

Soluble in all common organic solvents.
Negligible solubility in water.

Specifications

Purity: 95.0% w/w min.
cis/trans-chrysanthemates: 20 (±5)% / 80 (±5)%

APPLICATIONS

TETRAMETHRIN is an excellent knock-down pyrethroid suitable for applications against flying and crawling insects, particularly effective against houseflies and cockroaches.

When TETRAMETHRIN is synergized with Piperonyl Butoxide, its killing power is increased, while the recovery ability of insects is reduced or even eliminated, resulting in highly cost-effective formulations.

TETRAMETHRIN is typically used in water or oil based aerosols, liquid concentrates (emulsifiable concentrates, macro and micro-emulsions) and corresponding RTUs.

COMPATIBILITY, STABILITY,
STORAGE AND HANDLING

TETRAMETHRIN is compatible with most of the actives, solvents and co-formulants normally used in the manufacturing of insecticidal products, including Piperonyl Butoxide which also has excellent solubilizing properties.

TETRAMETHRIN is sensitive to alkalis and strong acids, which rapidly hydrolyse the substance. TETRAMETHRIN is also degraded by exposure to light and air.
When kept in the original sealed packaging and properly stored, TETRAMETHRIN has a shelf life of at least 3 years from the manufacturing date. For prescribed handling, storage conditions, disposal and transport information, refer to the relevant Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

PACKAGING

TETRAMETHRIN is supplied in LDPE bags in UN approved cardboard boxes, type 4G

Standard packaging sizes (netweight): 20kg

Packaging labelling complies with international provisions for transportation of dangerous goods. TETRAMETHRIN is labelled also in compliance with applicable European Union legislation and, upon customer’s specific request or for particular local regulation requirements, special labels may be applied to the boxes.
