  • Quick knock-down effect, particularly on flies
  • Efficiently controls insect population in treated area
  • Flushing-out effect
  • Easy photo-degradability (low residuality)
  • Excellently synergized by Piperonyl Butoxide
  • Excellently synergized by Piperonyl Butoxide

PROPERTIES

D-TETRAMETHRIN is a photolabile synthetic pyrethroid exhibiting mainly a knock-down effect, especially on flies, and is recommended in household and public health applications.

As for other synthetic pyrethroids, the efficacy of D-TETRAMETHRIN is strongly enhanced when combined with Piperonyl Butoxide which, thanks to its unique mode of action, excellently synergizes this class of insecticides.

Appearance

Yellow to brown transparent viscous liquid at 25°C.

Solubility

Soluble in all common organic solvents.
Negligible solubility in water.

Specifications

Purity: 92.0% w/w min.
cis/trans-chrysanthemates: 20 (±5)% / 80 (±5)%
d-chrysanthemates:93.0% min.

APPLICATIONS

D-TETRAMETHRIN is an excellent knock-down pyrethroid suitable for applications against flying and crawling insects, particularly effective against houseflies and cockroaches.

When D-TETRAMETHRIN is synergized with Piperonyl Butoxide, its killing power is increased, while the recovery ability of insects is reduced or even eliminated, resulting in highly cost-effective formulations.

D-TETRAMETHRIN is typically used in water or oil based aerosols, but also in liquid concentrates (emulsifiable concentrates, macro-and micro-emulsions) and corresponding RTUs.

COMPATIBILITY, STABILITY,
STORAGE AND HANDLING

D-TETRAMETHRIN is compatible with most of the actives, solvents and co-formulants normally used in the manufacturing of insecticidal products, including Piperonyl Butoxide which also exhibits an excellent solvency power towards pyrethroids.

D-TETRAMETHRIN is sensitive to alkalis and strong acids, which rapidly hydrolyse the substance.

D-TETRAMETHRIN is also degraded by light and air exposure. When kept in the original sealed drums and properly stored, D-TETRAMETHRIN has a shelf life of at least 3 years from the manufacturing date.
For prescribed handling, storage conditions, disposal and, transport information, refer to the relevant Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

PACKAGING

D-TETRAMETHRIN is supplied in internally epoxy-phenolic lacquered UN approved steel drums, type 1A1

Standard packaging sizes (net weight): 20kg

Packaging labelling complies with international provisions for transportation of dangerous goods. D-TETRAMETHRIN is labelled also in compliance with applicable European Union legislation and, upon customer’s specific request or for particular local regulation requirements, special labels may be applied to the drums.
